We are very excited to wish you all the best for the upcoming year live from our brand new trade blog.

2013 - Portrait Kessler et Valérie

ANIVIN DE FRANCE President Bruno Kessler & Director Valérie Pajotin

The purpose of this blog is to keep you updated about what’s happening to VIN DE FRANCE wines, and we will be posting regularly about such news from events across the world.

VIN DE FRANCE wines have developed so much since 2009. In 2012, we represented around 25% of total still French wines exported in volume, and the sales of VIN DE FRANCE wines with varietal mention on the label increased fourfold in the three years since 2010, to 1.2m hl, equating to some 13.9m cases.

With the largest export market in volume being Germany; followed by the UK; Netherlands; US; Belgium; and China, ANIVIN DE FRANCE has been working hard to support VIN DE FRANCE wines internationally.

You may remember some of the highlights of 2013, which included our stand at Prowein; trade seminars and consumer events in China; and a trade and press tour in the USA (detailed retrospective below).

This year is promising to be even more exciting. We kick start 2014 with the fifth annual Best Value VIN DE FRANCE International Tasting in Paris on 13 February, which will gather a panel of wine professionals from a dozen different key export markets, who are already looking forward to tasting a great range of VIN DE FRANCE.

The 2014 Selection will be showcased at ProWein in March 2014, and featured in a number of international wine publications, as well as at trade and consumer events all year long and all around the world.

Last but not least, this blog is about sharing, so don’t hesitate to leave comments for us, send us your questions, and of course if you have news about VIN DE FRANCE wines you would like to share, please send us an email at anivin@anivin.org

Happy New Year!

USA: Looking back at 2013 ; trade and press tour

USA ANIVIN2As the US market is now more than ever a key target market for VIN DE FRANCE wines, ANIVIN DE FRANCE took San Francisco and New York by storm last year on October 22 and 24, during an exclusive press and trade tour, enabling the US trade to discover or rediscover the VIN DE FRANCE brands available in the USA, and the potential of VIN DE FRANCE wines on the US market.

ANIVIN DE FRANCE president Bruno Kessler, Thierry Coste (Copa Cogeca, Cooperative Les Vignerons de Florensac), Laurent Delaunay (Badet Clément & Co.), Bertrand Girard (Val d’Orbieu) and I were met by over 100 key trade journalists, On and Off-trade buyers, and importers.

The two events included a presentation about the DNA of VIN DE FRANCE wines; performance and potential on the US market; and a tutored tasting of a selection of 12 VIN DE FRANCE wines. Each event ended with a free pour tasting. Both the VIN DE FRANCE concept and the wines went down really well, leading to enthusiastic comments from the audience, appraising these “great value wines”.USA ANIVIN

It was really exciting for us to meet so many key stakeholders on their turf, get their feedback on the market’s evolution and their comments on our VIN DE FRANCE wines. The enthusiastic atmosphere that came through from the two events can only suggest, one would hope, an exciting future for VIN DE FRANCE wines on the US market!

“The wines were very interesting, and the idea of creating a product that is in demand and marketing it to a new generation of wine lovers is novel and forward thinking” (Ellen Forrest,Wine Business Solutions, LLC)

“I was fascinated by the marketing and strategy components”(Wine Muse’s Annette Hanami)

The audience included key trade journalists like Beverage Media’s Kristen Bieler, Tasting Panel’s Meridith May and Santé Magazine’s Deborah Grossman. Coverage from the events reached a total audience of over 380 000 trade contacts.
